Apex Technology, Inc. seeks a Solar Array Manufacturing Development Engineer in Los Angeles to lead production-scale development of spacecraft solar array assemblies.

You will work on tooling, process validation, and throughput improvements on the production floor. You will partner with design engineers to improve manufacturability, drive yield, and ensure reliable performance across complex electromechanical assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or hardware production.
• Experience improving manufacturing processes for complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Hands-on experience with tooling, fixtures, equipment, and production troubleshooting.
• Understanding of process validation, quality control, and production documentation.
• Experience transitioning hardware into manufacturing with design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for solar array assemblies.
• Support solar cell integration, stringing, interconnects, bonding, layup, and panel assembly.
• Own manufacturing process development from prototype to production ramp.
• Design and implement production tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Create standard work, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability and reliability.
• Resolve production challenges in bonding, electrical connections, materials, and integration.
• Develop process controls and quality verification for consistent hardware.
• Support electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of solar arrays.
• Drive improvements in cycle time, first-pass yield, and capacity.
