Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Solar Array Electrical Engineer (Level 3/4) to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate. You will support design, test and procurement of solar array sub-assemblies from multiple suppliers, onsite in Redondo Beach.

The role requires an engineering degree with 5+ years (Level 3) or 8 years (Level 4) of relevant experience, and active SCI or Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with relevant experience OR Master's degree in STEM with relevant experience OR PhD in STEM with relevant experience
• Must have active SCI access or Top Secret clearance with SCI access ability prior to start date
• Experience with procurement of aerospace hardware design and/or component development
• Experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment

Responsibilities

• Produce photovoltaic array electrical design drawings and specifications
• Plan and execute design, analysis, test and qualification; may include mechanical solar array structures
• Provide status and input as IPT member to solar array design and production
• Support weekly subcontract telecoms; review data; attend MRRs and TRRs; review test data and support pre-shipment readiness
• Develop cost estimates and track efforts to those estimates
