Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector seeks a Solar Array Electrical Engineer at Level 3/4 to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate in the Western Region. You will support test, design and procurement of solar array sub-assemblies from multiple suppliers, onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.

The role requires advanced STEM degrees and clearance; responsibilities include design drawings, testing, IPT collaboration, and cost estimation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in STEM with 3+ years; OR PhD in STEM with 1+ year of relevant experience
  • Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date
  • Experience with procurement of aerospace hardware design and/or development of components
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Produce photovoltaic array electrical design drawings and specifications
  • Planning and execution of design, analysis, test and qualification and may include mechanical solar array structures
  • Provide status, problem resolution plans and input as an IPT member to a complete solar array mechanical/electrical design and production efforts
  • Support weekly subcontract telecoms, review in-process data, MRPs/TRRs, review test data and support pre-shipment readiness review meeting
  • Develop cost estimates and track efforts to these estimates

NorthropGrumman'sSpaceSector is seeking a Solar Array Electrical Engineer - Level 3/4 to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate within Western Region Engineering. In this role, you will support test, design and procurement of solar array sub-assemblies from multiple suppliers. This position is located onsite in RedondoBeach,CA.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Produce photovoltaic array electrical design related engineering drawings and specifications
  • Planning and execution of design, analysis, test and qualification and may include mechanical solar array structures
  • Provide status, problem resolution plans and provide input as an Integrated Process Team (IPT) member to a complete solar array mechanical/electrical design and production efforts
  • Support weekly subcontract telecoms, review in-process data, attend Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), review test data and support pre-shipment readiness review meeting
  • Develop cost estimates and track efforts to these estimates

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for Solar Array Electrical Engineer - Level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in STEM with3 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM with 1 year of relevant experience
  • Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company, prior to the start date
  • Experience with procurement of aerospace hardware design and/or development of components
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment

Basic Qualifications for Solar Array Electrical Engineer - Level 4:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in STEM with6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant experience
  • Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company, prior to the start date
  • Experience with procurement of aerospace hardware design and/or development of components
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working and programming knowledge with LabView
  • Demonstrated multidisciplinary skills and ability to work with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
