Job summary

ECS Limited in College Park, GA is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Soils Laboratory Technician. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided, and you will learn to safely perform tests in our soils and concrete labs under supervision.

You will assist with sample preparation, run basic tests, document results, and help maintain QA/QC records. Opportunities for certification and career growth are available as you earn credentials.

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience is acceptable.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain lab certifications as per ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver's license is required.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Dependable, self-motivated, responsible work ethic.
• Ability to follow directions and work under close supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency including Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory tests on soil and construction material samples under supervision
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties
• Performs soils laboratory testing including Atterberg limits, gradation, swell, moisture, classifications, UCS, proctor tests
• Maintains a clean and organized laboratory environment
• Supports calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Maintains calibration records and QA/QC documentation
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
• Assists with additional laboratory functions and occasional fieldwork as needed
