Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Soils Inspector Specialist to join our Los Angeles, CA team, ensuring conformance to project plans.

You will collect data, operate survey tools, assist with load calculations, and generate detailed inspection reports. Requires 7+ years of inspection experience, valid driver’s license, and ICC licenses; Associate’s degree is a plus. This role collaborates with engineers and inspectors on critical projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant post-education inspection experience.
• Ability to read plans, specifications and technical documents.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document project construction activities for conformance to plans.
• Work at multiple client sites in the Los Angeles area inspecting activities.
• Collect, compile, and analyze data from field work and related sources.
• Use survey instruments and test equipment to perform basic inspections of site conditions.
• Provide routine technical assistance on inspection, construction, and functioning of buildings and infrastructure.
• Assist with load verifications, change orders, and interpretation of plans and specs.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and assist with questions from contractors.
• Assist with calculating payments due to contractors and ensuring adequate equipment and materials.
• Generate complete documentation and reports on inspection findings.
• Comply with client policies, safety guidelines, and company code of conduct.

High School Diploma or GED

Associate’s Degree in related field preferred

ICC licenses in concrete, structural steel welding, masonry, fireproofing and soils preferred
