Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking an experienced Driller to join our Mobile office. This position requires regular travel to project sites and hands-on drilling experience. You will operate drilling equipment and support geotechnical results for diverse projects.

The candidate will log soil samples, perform inspections, hold drill rods, load equipment, and drive to sites. A high school diploma or equivalent, 2–5 years in soil drilling, valid driver's license, and basic computer skills are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of soil drilling experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling equipment to obtain soil samples for geotechnical analysis.
• Conduct visual inspections and log soil samples for reporting.
• Hold and guide drill rods during drilling operations.
• Load and unload drilling equipment from company vehicles.
• Safely drive company vehicles to and from job sites.
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
• Maintain consistent, on-time attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
