Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking an experienced Driller to join our Mobile office. This position requires regular travel to project sites and will suit someone with hands-on drilling experience dedicated to safety, teamwork, and quality work.

Responsibilities include operating drilling equipment for soil sampling, logging samples, and transporting gear between sites while maintaining strong client communication and on-time attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of soil drilling experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling equipment to obtain soil samples for geotechnical analysis.
• Conduct accurate visual inspections and log soil samples for reporting.
• Hold and guide drill rods during drilling operations.
• Load and unload drilling equipment from company vehicles.
• Safely drive company vehicles to and from job sites.
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
• Maintain consistent, on-time attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
