Our success stems from the diverse backgrounds of our firm's owners and our team of approximately 100 engineers, scientists, technical subject matter experts, and program managers. Our hands-on project implementation approach integrates management, quality, and engineering principles to ensure effective delivery of all projects. We maintain a sterling reputation for providing high-quality, responsive engineering and technical services while upholding professional commitments and ensuring complete client satisfaction throughout the United States.

We are excited to announce that CCPRS has won the next 5-year contract for the Public Assistance Technical Assistance Contract V (PA TAC V Programs) in the West zones (e.g., Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, California, Arizona, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, Hawaii, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri). Through CCPRS, SOL Engineering Services, LLC seeks a technical support assistant for FEMA disaster-related operations across the U.S. FEMA utilizes the PA TAC nationally to obtain labor categories such as Environment/General Planners, Engineers (all disciplines), Construction Managers/Inspectors/Estimators, Project Managers, Financial Analysts, and other related professional services to assist state, local, municipal, and public entities in developing grant applications for Federal Public Assistance Funding for infrastructure and facilities damaged by natural disasters.

SOL Engineering Services, LLC is seeking a talented Mid-Level Soil/Geotechnical Licensed Engineer with FEMA Public Assistance (PA) project experience to join our team. The role involves providing technical expertise in geotechnical analysis, conducting site assessments, and supporting disaster response and recovery projects. This position requires close collaboration with FEMA representatives, local agencies, and internal teams to meet project goals and ensure FEMA compliance. If you have prior FEMA experience in related fields and are currently residing in or available to deploy to the areas listed below, please submit your resume.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Public Assistance (PA) Experience is highly in demand for deployment and FEMA requires at least 1 year of regional, state, or local level deployment experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical assessments and soil evaluations for FEMA PA projects, including soil compaction, slope stability, and foundational stability analysis.
  • Perform site investigations, soil sampling, and field testing to identify subsurface conditions and geotechnical risks.
  • Develop and submit technical reports and engineering documentation aligned with FEMA PA standards.
  • Recommend soil stabilization, erosion control, and hazard mitigation measures for recovery projects.
  • Collaborate with FEMA and stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Conduct field inspections to assess soil and structural damage from natural disasters, aiding recovery efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to FEMA and regulatory standards throughout project execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Soil Mechanics, or related field.
  • PE license with 5+ years of relevant geotechnical experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience with FEMA PA projects, including documentation, assessment, and grants management.
  • Proficiency in soil mechanics, geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS), and GIS.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Floodplain Manager (CFM) or similar.
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with FEMA PA grant management software and processes.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, paid vacation, professional development, and a 401(k) plan.
