Job summary

Retail for the People is opening a first NYC pop-up in SoHo from September 30 to October 8, seeking a Store Manager to lead a fast-paced, high-visibility week.

You will own the floor, the team, and the numbers, energize staff, manage schedules, handle operations, and create a buzzworthy customer experience that turns walk-ins into fans. This demanding window requires retail leadership and strong menswear knowledge under pressure.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a retail leadership role is required (Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or Keyholder).
• Menswear or streetwear retail background strongly preferred.
• Available for the full duration: September 30 – October 8; on-site in SoHo, NYC.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fast-onboarded team, brand-ready in a compressed timeline.
• Set the energy and tone for the run to create hype on the floor.
• Build and manage staff schedules to keep the floor fully covered across operating hours.
• Create a high-energy customer experience and turn walk-ins into fans.
• Handle VIP/press visits with brand polish and professionalism.
• Own daily opening/closing procedures and tight inventory tracking.
• Oversee stock deliveries and replenishment in a limited inventory window.
• Lead close-out procedures at the end of the run with inventory reconciliation.
