WEB DEVELOPER – FULL TIME, EXEMPT (HYBRID ROLE)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Software Web Developer to design, develop, and maintain our software products through the development of web applications and websites that support REDCOM’s new vertical product capability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Design, develop, manage, maintain and support REDCOM software products.
• Work individually or within a team to implement specific features and resolve customer issues.
• Acquire an expert level understanding of technologies and protocols relevant to REDCOM products.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS THAT ARE REQUIRED TO FULFILL THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Development of websites and web applications as well as maintaining existing code.
• Front‑end and back‑end development, including seamless integration of front‑ to back‑end functionality.
• Model‑View Controller (MVC) and modern web frameworks.
• PHP expertise.
• Effective use of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS.
• SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Development of APIs (REST/JSON).
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the software development field.
• BS or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES THAT ARE PREFERRED TO FULFILL THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Telecommunications and Chat protocols; including SIP, XMPP.
• IP Networking technologies and protocols.
• Bootstrap.
• CodeIgniter.
• Vue.js.
• Testing tools, including Selenium and PHPUnit.
• FreeBSD, Linux or other current Unix environments.
• GIT.
• Apache.
• Security and encryption.
• CMFF / Modular Systems: Familiarity with or ability to quickly ramp up on CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF), open architecture standards, and C5ISR/EW capabilities is highly desired.

OTHER DUTIES

• Complete special projects and perform other duties as necessary.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• No special working conditions – work in office environment.
• Travel on an exception basis only.
• May require extended work hours to meet project or customer requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work at a computer/computer workstation for extended periods of time.

Compensation

• Software Engineer: Hiring Range $66,000 - $77,000
• Senior Software Engineer: Hiring Range $76,000 - $87,500
