Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Software/Web Developer to support mission-focused intelligence applications and services across the DoD. The role involves sustaining and enhancing a suite of applications, microservices, and web-based interfaces, while identifying future capabilities and eliminating overlaps.

You will troubleshoot, develop, test, and deploy high-performance software, collaborating with management and information technologists to meet DoD requirements and secure environments.

Qualifications

DoD 8570 IA Technical (IAT) Level 2 and IA Management (IAM) Level 2 compliance required.
Experience on a DoD/DIA DevSecOps development team.
Knowledge of Oracle and/or CENTOS architecture.

Position Summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software/Web Developer to join a mission-focused team that maintains applications, services, microservices, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and support services. The effort requires maintaining and enhancing an application and its underlying services/microservices' current capability while identifying future capability needs and eliminating overlaps. The team continuously improves sustainment and development to reinvest resources to provide new capabilities and improve the effectiveness, quality, and robustness of the underlying technology. The applications focus on intelligence analysis and collection management directly supporting intelligence analysts and operators across the intelligence community and Combatant Commands. The Software/Web Developer applies concepts, develops, tests, maintains, and supports high-performance, innovative software and web-based applications. Troubleshoots software and web problems and provides solutions using the latest technologies. Works with management and information technologists to determine specifications. Uses a variety of internet technologies, techniques, and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML) to create software and web application elements such as user interface features, algorithms, animation, special effects, databases, and e-business applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supports software and web architecture development, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration with both new and legacy systems.
Interacts with customers and development team to gather and define requirements.
Analyzes and studies customer requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy their needs.
Designs, creates, tests, and maintains software and web based applications and content solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
Follows a formal design process using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and adheres to laws, standards, and established guidelines for development and delivery of software and web applications (e.g., software reuse, modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant).
Coordinates creation and collection of necessary technology components and integrates them into a coherent site design.
Designs and develops visually-pleasing, content rich, user-friendly interfaces with intuitive navigation.
Develops and maintains software and web development technical documentation to assist with software and web application maintenance and upgrades.
Provides software process management and configuration management throughout the software/web development lifecycle.
Participates in developing and delivering training as requested by the government to support applications.
Develops training materials related to Tier 0/1 ensuring they are comprehensive enough for ESOC technical staff to be capable of troubleshooting the application.
Participates in DevSecOps processes and practices principles during all design phases.

Required Qualifications

Must be DoD 8570 compliant at IA Technical (IAT) Level 2 and IA Management (IAM) Level 2.
Experience working on a development team under DoD/DIA DevSecOps process.
Understanding of Oracle and/or CENTOS based architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science and eight years of comparable work experience.
Up to ten or more years of program/application operations experience.
Experience in the Intelligence Community.
Analytical skills and ability to effectively prioritize needs, requirements, and other issues.
Strong risk management skills.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and conflict management skills.
