Job summary

MANTECH in Patuxent River, MD is seeking a Software Testing and Documentation Specialist to ensure software quality and create clear technical documentation for naval customers. This on-site role supports NAWCAD and includes testing, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive functional test plans and test cases for Vulcan Flight Deck.
• Participate in the SDLC with agile teams to define requirements and technical solutions.
• Coordinate and manage documentation QA for software development (SRS, RMF, Software Development Plans, manuals, test reports).
• Oversee data distribution lifecycle using JDMS for manuals, software images, patches, and data sets.
• Utilize APIs and sFTP frameworks within JDMS to optimize large content delivery.
• Collaborate with the JTDI program team to ensure end-to-end data delivery across unclassified architectures.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally as needed.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Testing and Documentation Specialist to join our team working in Patuxent River, MD. This is an onsite position.

The Software Testing and Documentation Specialist in this position will ensuring the quality and functionality of our software through rigorous testing and creating clear, comprehensive technical documentation for various audiences. In this role, you will be supporting our customers at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River Naval Air Station. This position is based on-site in California, MD.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive functional test plans and test cases based on business and system requirements of Vulcan Flight Deck.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including analysis, testing, and deployment by working closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts throughout the agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) to define project requirements and technical solutions.
• Coordinate and manage documentation peer review quality assurance process in support of software development, to include Software Requirements Specifications, Risk Management Framework documentation, Software Development Plans, Vulcan User Manuals, Test Reports, and maintain technical documentation to include document version control and quality assurance.
• Oversee the lifecycle of data distribution using JDMS to transport critical technical manuals, software images, patches, and aviation logistics data sets.
• Utilize custom Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and secure File Transfer Protocol (sFTP) frameworks within the JDMS ecosystem to optimize large content delivery.
• Collaborate with the Joint Technical Data Integration (JTDI) program team to ensure seamless end-to-end data delivery across unclassified (NIPR) architectures.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, as needed to support customer needs

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience software testing, development, engineering, or related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline OR a Highschool Diploma/GED and an additional 3 years of software related experience.
• Experience with the Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) and developing ATO-related documentation.
• Experience generating, reading, and interpreting technical documentation.
• Experience communicating both verbally and through writing with technical and non-technical staff
• Must complete a software tester certification course and/or Training Qualification within 180 days of being on contract

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a talent for translating complex technical concepts into accessible language.
• Hands-on experience with Joint Delivery Management Service (JDMS) operations, secure file-sharing infrastructures, or closely related DoD enterprise data transit systems
• Familiarity with Agile developments methodologies
• Personal projects or internship experiences in Software testing and development
• Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn

Clearance Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current or active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
