Long-term Contract: Annual renewal (~2-3 years expected)

About the Role
VITA is undertaking a major Workday implementation for its financial, procurement, and expense modules. We are seeking an experienced Workday Tester to support the agency’s upcoming system go-live. This role will focus on validating Workday configuration, executing test cases, logging defects, and ensuring integrations and workflows function correctly. The Workday Tester will also support UAT preparation and regression testing to ensure readiness for go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Unit Testing Workday Configuration:
- Validate Workday Financials, Procurement, Expenses, and other modules configured by the system integrator.
- Test transactions, approvals, journal entries, and security roles to ensure proper functionality.
- Test Case Development & Execution:
- Create, execute, and document test scripts in tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Workday testing tools.
- Log defects and track resolution.
- Defect Logging & Management:
- Identify and document system defects with clear steps to reproduce, screenshots, and severity.
- Work with the system integrator to resolve issues.
- Integration Validation:
- Test interfaces with PeopleSoft, payroll, procurement, banking, and data warehouse systems.
- Ensure data flows correctly and fields map accurately.
- UAT Support:
- Assist agency users in testing scenarios.
- Validate fixes and support user acceptance testing activities.
- Regression Testing:
- Re-test resolved defects and confirm that fixes do not impact other system functionalities.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 5+ years of hands‑on Workday testing experience (especially Workday Financials).
- ERP testing experience in Workday, Oracle, SAP, or PeopleSoft.
- Experience writing test cases and executing unit, SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Preferred:
- Public sector ERP implementation experience.
- Familiarity with Agile / DevOps testing tools and methodologies.
