Job summary

Astrion seeks a Software Test Engineer at a mid-level to join the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order team supporting 45 TS / TGAD. You will plan, execute, and report developmental testing for multiple applications at Maxwell AFB Gunter Annex, AL, with expected travel under 10% and a Secret clearance requirement.

You will contribute to test planning, automation, and documentation while collaborating across technical teams to ensure testability and proper test coverage in a mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 3-10 years of applicable experience.
• Must be able to acquire a SECRET security clearance. U.S. Citizenship.
• Manual testing experience.
• Ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
• Effective oral and written communication including technical writing, briefings, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes, and reports on developmental test and evaluation for the War Planning portfolio.
• Provides technical effort in responding to questions of critical importance to the customer.
• Supports development of TEMP, test team charters, and test plans and reports.
• Ensures system requirements are testable and defines performance measures and test criteria.
• Employs test automation tools and conducts performance testing.
• Documents deficiencies and participates in review boards.
• Prepares and analyzes test objectives, plans, procedures, and metrics throughout the software life cycle.
• May require extended hours and TDY travels (<10%).

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an ET-3 Software Test Evaluatorfor the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 45 TS / TGAD. This positon is located at Gunter Annex, AL.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Bachelor's Degree and 3-10 years of applicable experience
• Must be able to acquire a SECRET security clearance. U.S. Citizenship.
• Manual testing experience.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• A current and active SECRET security clearance is highly desired.
• Knowledge and experience with Agile, DEV/SEC/OPS, and Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies
• HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or similar test management system is highly desired
• Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence is highly desired.
• Automated test tools experience
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cybersecurity test and evaluation is desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, executes, and reports on the developmental test and evaluation for the War Planning portfolio which contains various applications and systems.
• Provides individual technical effort in responding to questions/issues of critical importance to the customer.
• Supports the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), test team charters and Test Plans and Reports as applicable.
• Assists in ensuring system requirements are testable and advises on performance measures, test entry/exit criteria, test design limitations and constraints, and test progress.
• Employs test automation tools and utilities supporting test execution.
• Develops and employs tests utilizing performance-testing tools.
• Identifies and documents deficiencies and anomalies of systems under test, evaluates and reports deficiencies, provides recommendations, and participates in deficiency review boards.
• Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test objectives, plans, procedures and metrics; prepares reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develops and writes methods of tests, test cases, test cards, and any other test process documents required to plan, execute and report on testing.
• Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.
• Travels to TDY locations (<10%) to execute test procedures; perform data management, reduction, and analysis; perform configuration management, hardware setup, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Provisioning of user accounts, including account creation and modification in the NIPR environment for testing.
