Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL to join an independent software test team on multiple projects. You will help create test strategies, determine test conditions, and oversee functional, operational, and performance testing to ensure robust software products.

You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to resolve testing issues, analyze data, and report status for system tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and at least three years' work related experience.
• Experience with Agile Software Testing or Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience setting up test environments, executing manual tests, and architecting test automation frameworks (e.g, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium Web Driver).
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with C++ (17+) and Python.
• Experience analyzing test data/results and producing test, risks and defect reports.
• Background in Software and Hardware Integration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work across teams.
• Candidate must possess a Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one.

Requirements

• Minimum of bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and at least three years' work related experience


• Experience working in Agile Software Testing or Agile Software Development methodologies

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and function groups


• Candidate must possess a Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Atlassian Tools Suite and GitLab


• Experience using containers such as Docker and Podman


• Experience applying Agile practices such as Scrum and Kanban


• Experience producing formal Test Plans and Test Procedures (software focused documentation is a plus)


• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL


• Understanding of REST API testing and experience with tools such as Postman


• Proficiency with Linux operating system


• Experience with system-level testing of radars or emitters
