Job summary

Silvus Technologies in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Software Test Engineer to accelerate software quality by executing manual regression tests and leading exploratory testing across StreamCaster products. You will debug with engineers, triage defects, and build scripts for testing features like PTT and network performance.

The role is onsite, Monday–Friday at our West Los Angeles HQ, with opportunities to document requirements and influence design decisions while upholding high usability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Strong coding skills in Python or C/C++.
• Experience on Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android or bare metal.
• Understanding of software testing (unit, integration, system).
• Fundamental networking knowledge.
• U.S. citizenship due to government contracts.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual regression tests.
• Lead ad-hoc testing and debugging for the software dept.
• Perform exploratory tests against defect reports, new features, and bug fixes.
• Triage defect reports and coordinate with engineers on their resolution.
• Develop scripts to aid testing for features like PTT and network performance.
• Document software product requirements and design decisions.
• Adhere and contribute to upholding software usability and quality standards.
• Record tickets for defects and travel may be required.
