Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Software Test Engineer in Columbia, MD to ensure the reliability and security of the Minotaur Mission Processor for national security missions.

You will develop test plans, write test cases, create automation scripts, manage test data, execute tests, and report results to the design team. Travel 10–20% and the role requires Linux, Python, and Bash proficiency, with eligibility to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 0 years with Masters; or 6 years with High School Diploma.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash or related language.

Responsibilities

• Devise and apply testing procedures for HII’s Minotaur product and for external vendors.
• Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements and potential problems.
• Test creation, development, execution, and closure.
• Analyze test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability.
• Perform moderately complex analysis and troubleshooting.
• Design of manual and automated test procedures.
• Prepare reports on all aspects of software testing and reporting to the design team.
• Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground/flight tests.
