Job summary

CNH Industrial Group is seeking an engineering intern/co-op to develop and validate test cases in a dSPACE HIL environment at our Oak Brook, IL facility. You will design manual and automated tests, and contribute to Simulink-based models used in HIL simulations.

The role focuses on Python scripting, MATLAB/Simulink development, and configuration desk techniques, with collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams to improve validation processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and validation is a plus, preferably using dSPACE platforms.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink model development and simulation.
• Knowledge of Configuration Desk and test parameterization techniques.
• Understanding of closed-loop system validation and control system testing.
• Familiarity with automotive, agricultural, off-highway, or embedded systems validation environments is a plus.

Intern Program Overview:

Job Purpose

Develop Test Cases for various Projects. Both automated and manual validation will be performed. Support Universal HIL development and delivery milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and execute validation test cases within a dSPACE Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environment.

Design and implement bothmanual and automated test cases to support system validation and verification activities.

Create and maintain automated test solutions using techniques such as:

• Parameterization
• Configuration Desk
• Python scripting

Contribute to the development and enhancement of Simulink‑based I/O models used within HIL simulations.

Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to validate software and system performance in closed‑loop environments.

Support continuous improvement of test methodologies, automation frameworks, and validation processes.

Experience Required

• Experience developing test strategies that improve validation efficiency, coverage, and automation maturity.
