Job summary

Genalyte, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Software Test Engineer I/II to design and run test plans for a dual-instrument and cloud platform, ensuring quality before release.

You will collaborate with developers, PMs, and QA peers in a fast-paced, regulated environment, applying manual and automated testing, logging defects in Jira, and helping mature QA processes. Experience in medical devices or IVD is preferred; BS/MS in CS or Engineering required; knowledge of SQL, APIs, and HTML/JS is a

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software QA testing experience in regulated environments.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Familiarity with Jira and test management tools.
• Knowledge of SQL, APIs, and web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
• Experience with automated testing tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual and automated tests and document results.
• Log and track defects (e.g., Jira) and verify bug fixes.
• Develop and maintain test cases and scripts.
• Support regulatory submissions with test evidence.
• Collaborate with development and product teams in an Agile environment.
• Mentor junior QA engineers as needed.
