Job description

ProShip, Inc. has an immediate opening for an ambitious, self-motivated Software Support Engineer who will be responsible for Tier 2 and or Tier 3 support of the ProShip software suite of products.

Location: Brookfield, WI or Remote

General Summary:

  • Base salary + incentive opportunity
  • Provide software support to customers for the ProShip multi-carrier shipping solution
  • Potential for integration participation & special projects

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2 and or Tier 3 customer support and technical issue resolution
  • Evaluate issues to be resolved using logical problem-solving techniques and create/obtain necessary relevant technical information to solve the customer's issue
  • Debugging, testing and implementation of customer system modifications including scripting
  • Provide feedback on customer needs and expectations to the development team, and marketing managers
  • Deliver technical training internally and externally
  • Responsible for technical documentation relevancy
  • After-Hours rotation may be required (additional compensation provided)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, CS, MCS, MIS or related field or the equivalent in a combination of education and work experience
  • Excellent working knowledge/proficiency in VB.NET and VB Script
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to communicate tactfully and effectively with customers and coworkers
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to gather relevant data, think analytically and solve problems under pressure
  • Ability to quickly learn industry-specific knowledge and new technologies
  • Basic SQL skills
  • Experience in the shipping industry a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to withstand prolonged periods of sustained computer usage
  • Able to handle stress and pressure of supporting our customers
