Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a Software Strategic Sourcing Manager to oversee end-to-end software procurement and contract lifecycle. You will lead complex negotiations, optimize licensing and drive value through supplier relationships.

Collaborate with IT, Security and Legal to align terms with technical and commercial requirements, renewals, and cost reductions while supporting strategic initiatives across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in procurement strategic sourcing and supplier management.
• Direct experience negotiating software and SaaS agreements.
• Deep knowledge of software licensing models (subscription, perpetual, named user, concurrent).
• Strong analytical capabilities with spend data, utilization metrics and TCO modeling.
• Experience with enterprise software suppliers (Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, etc).
• Familiarity with SaaS management platforms (Zylo, Productiv, Flexera, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing for new software purchases, RFx, and enterprise agreements.
• Own renewal management for existing software contracts and optimize terms.
• Analyze utilization with IT teams to identify cost savings and license optimization.
• Partner with IT, Security, Legal and business stakeholders on supplier evaluation.
• Negotiate complex SaaS and perpetual license agreements including pricing and SLAs.
• Maintain supplier relationships with reviews, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
• Feed market intelligence back to inform broader IT category strategy.
• Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Software Strategic Sourcing Manager will oversee the end‑to‑end strategic sourcing and contract lifecycle for enterprise and specialty software. They will lead complex software negotiations, drive licensing optimization and product rationalization efforts, and manage key supplier relationships to maximize value and reduce risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing for new software purchases – conducting needs assessments, managing RFx processes and negotiating enterprise agreements.
• Own the renewal management for existing software contracts, initiating reviews 90+ days before expiration to optimize terms and right‑size licenses.
• Analyze utilization in partnership with our Technical Data and Innovation team members to identify cost savings through license optimization, consolidation, and elimination of redundant applications.
• Partner with IT, Security, Legal and business stakeholders to evaluate suppliers against technical, security, and commercial requirements.
• Negotiate complex SaaS and perpetual license agreements, including pricing models, SLAs, data security provisions and exit terms.
• Maintain supplier relationships through structured business reviews, performance tracking and issue resolution
• Feed market intelligence and sourcing insights back to the IT Category Manager to inform broader category strategy.
• Engage and participate in special projects or complete other duties as assigned
