Job summary

HEO USA is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and deliver bespoke software for US Government programs. You will work across the stack on non-recurring engineering projects, prototyping features for mission needs and scaling domestic engineering capabilities in collaboration with Australia-based teams.

You will contribute to pipeline automation, API development, and cloud deployments while supporting mission-critical software for national security stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of software engineering experience delivering end-to-end applications.
• Experience supporting US Government/DoD IC is highly preferred.
• Strong Python and API development with experience in Django or FastAPI.
• Cloud experience (AWS) and modern infrastructure skills.
• Ability to work across stack including lightweight frontend/visualization updates.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Automation: write, test, and implement Python for NEI and SDA data collection.
• MVP & Prototype Development: build end-to-end MVPs, APIs, and experiments for USG customers.
• Productionizing Core Capabilities: translate mission modeling and image processing into production software.
• Platform & UI Enhancement: extend HEO Inspect platform with features and visualizations.
• Technical Program Support: interface for USG projects translating aerospace capabilities into software needs.
