Job summary

KBR's Mission Technology Solutions (MTS) unit seeks a Lead Software Engineer to oversee software and modeling/simulation for an Army STARE program. You will lead MBSE activities, ensure data-centric artifacts, and drive digital transformation, reviewing contractor deliverables while building government capabilities.

This on-site position at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL requires a US citizen with SECRET clearance and 15–20% travel flexibility to support critical DoD objectives and safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or applicable STEM with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience managing system models using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, Raphsody).
• Experience leading or participating in a formal DoD VV&A process.
• Proven experience providing technical oversight of contractor software development on a DoD acquisition program.
• Expert knowledge of Army digital engineering strategies, technical standards, and MOSA principles.
• Strong understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and OTA agreements.
• Able to travel 15-20% of the time.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and have an active SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE model development and digital thread integration across stakeholders.
• Provide technical oversight of contractor M&S models and tools.
• Oversee VV&A planning, scheduling, and coordination for accreditation objectives.
• Coordinate with Army stakeholders on SMR and fielding readiness of software.
• Review contractor SW architecture for MOSA compliance and security.
• Chair the SW Change Control Board and triage software issues.
