Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to actively participate in end-to-end program activities, ensuring compliance with AS9115, DO-178 and MIL-STD-882E. You will collaborate with Program Managers and customers, drive best practices, and coordinate across SQA teams to assure quality metrics and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 2+ years in Software Development lifecycle (Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)
• 2+ years in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• 2+ years of software quality engineering experience supporting AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements
• 2+ years of experience with Software Development Processes
• Experience with DevSecOps and associated tools
• Experience with Project Management of products developed using Agile software development practices and tools (JIRA)
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person
• Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; interim/final Secret required
• Employer will not sponsor employment visa status

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in program activities from initial proposal through planning, verification, certification, and delivery
• Act as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer
• Highlight potential team best practices and areas for improvement
• Coordinate support across Software Quality Engineers supporting a program
• Ensure Software Quality Engineer commitments are met
• Verify software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards
• Identify process or product non-compliances
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and defect investigation/prevention activities
• Team with equipment managers of supplier products to evaluate supplier software development performance
• Identify and analyze program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risks
