Job summary

NCR Voyix seeks a results-driven Software Quality Engineer with 5+ years of QA experience, focused on manual and automated testing, API and database validation, and test strategy execution across enterprise applications. On-site in Irving, TX, you will collaborate with vendors, project managers, developers, DevOps, and QE leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience in manual and automated testing methodologies and tools
• Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
• Hands-on experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) and database validation (SQL/NoSQL)
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, PractiTest, or HP QC
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including defect triaging and root cause analysis
• Working knowledge of object-oriented programming (Java, Python, or similar) for test automation development
• Experience in retail domain applications, including POS systems and transaction flows (preferred)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases aligned with functional and non-functional requirements
• Perform end-to-end system validation, including functional, integration, system, and regression testing across distributed applications
• Develop and execute test scenarios for applications deployed on Kubernetes clusters, validating scalability and resilience
• Implement and drive BDD practices and contribute to quality engineering culture
• Validate application behavior and performance in edge computing environments
• Manage the defect lifecycle using standard tools
• Conduct detailed RCA of defects using logs and data analysis to ensure effective resolution
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Validate APIs, databases, and system integrations for contract compliance and data integrity across services
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, testing best practices, and CI/CD processes
