Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for the Fort Worth, TX site to oversee software quality across the aeronautics development lifecycle. The role emphasizes adherence to DO-178/DO-254 standards, process audits, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate brings extensive aerospace software experience, embedded C/C++/Ada, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree required in CS/CE/EE.
• Minimum 11 years of aerospace/defense software process experience.
• Experience with FAA projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface with systems and software development, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
• Work well in a team, with strong customer interface and interpersonal skills.
• Get up to speed on software process auditor scope, technical requirements, and delivery milestones.
• Review and approve system/software/test documentation for compliance to process requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with engineering on program activities to ensure contractual and company process compliance.
• Participate in software change control boards.
• Travel may be required to support program activities and auditing software suppliers.
• Mentor and train junior employees as required.

Job Description:

This position monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, making sure that the aircraft delivered software adheres to the standards set by the development company and satisfies regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
• Must work well in a team environment, have excellent customer interface skills, have effective interpersonal skills.
• The candidate is expected to quickly come up to speed with the software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedule.
• Review and approve systems, software and test equipment requirements, design and test documentation for compliance to process requirements and standards.
• Participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual and company process requirements and standards.
• Participate in the software change control process boards
• Moderate travel may be required to support program activities and auditing software suppliers.
• Mentor and train junior employees, as required

Education:

• BS degree required, in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred)

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 11 years directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (such as RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498, etc.)
• Experience with government customers projects preferred.
• Experience with FAA projects preferred.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of software development methods and software testing methods.
• Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, contracts that will enable development and review of systems & software processes.
• Experience in software requirements development.
• Software design and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages)
• Embedded software/hardware verification background or knowledge
• Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing
• Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

The pay range for this role is $120k- $160k per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
