Job summary

AutoStore in Atlanta is seeking a hands-on Software QA Engineer for the Supervisory Control Platform. You will design and execute test plans for Computer Vision workflows, image/video processing, and camera-to-software integrations, ensuring end-to-end reliability and release readiness.

You will build automated tests across APIs, services, and CI/CD pipelines, document defects with clear evidence, and collaborate with software engineers, product, and DevOps to improve coverage and quality for

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of QA experience in software testing.
  • Experience testing Computer Vision or AI/ML applications is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of test planning, regression testing, and release validation.
  • Ability to validate software with representative datasets and edge cases.

This is a hands-on software quality assurance role in our engineering organization, with the title of Software QA Engineer, Supervisory Control Platform. This role is accountable for validating software quality, reliability, integration readiness, and release confidence for the platform.You will test software for the Supervisory Control Platform with a strong focus on Computer Vision products and applications, including vision-enabled workflows, image/video processing pipelines, detection and classification behaviours, platform services, APIs, messaging flows, integrations, and end-to-end connectivity from on-premise warehouse systems to cloud services. The role ensures test coverage, defect visibility, release readiness, and close collaboration across Software Engineering, Product, Architecture, Controls, Cloud, DevOps, Computer Vision, and integration partners.Key responsibilities:Define and execute test plans for Computer Vision applications, image/video processing workflows, detection and classification behaviours, camera-to-software integration, and product-specific user scenarios.Validate Computer Vision software across representative datasets, environmental conditions, edge cases, performance thresholds, false positives/false negatives, and real-world warehouse operating scenarios.Build and improve automated test coverage across Computer Vision applications, APIs, services, integrations, regression suites, and CI/CD pipelines.Identify, document, reproduce, and track software defects with clear evidence, severity, impact, image/video examples where relevant, and validation criteria.Support quality gates, test reporting, risk assessment, and go/no-go input for Computer Vision product releases and platform releases.Test the full software flow across Computer Vision applications, platform components, control-system interfaces, warehouse execution systems, and cloud connectivity.Validate secure, reliable, and observable connectivity between on-premise warehouse systems, Computer Vision components, and cloud-based platform services.Work closely with developers, Computer Vision engineers, architects, product managers, DevOps, controls engineers, and integration partners to ensure requirements are testable and releases meet quality expectations.Key Qualifications:3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or test automation.Experience testing Computer Vision products, applications, image/video processing workflows, camera-enabled systems, AI/ML-enabled applications, or comparable perception-based software is strongly preferred.Experience testing APIs, backend services, distributed systems, middleware, or platform software.Strong understanding of test planning, test case design, regression testing, integration testing, defect management, and release validation.Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, test data management, and quality reporting.Ability to validate software behaviour using representative datasets, image/video samples, edge-case scenarios, expected output criteria, and measurable quality thresholds.Experience validating cloud platforms, hybrid connectivity, observability, logs, monitoring signals, or deployment workflows is preferred.Ability to work independently with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks, and ensure software is ready for production use.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Preferred Qualifications:Computer Vision, image processing, video analytics, AI/ML application testing, camera systems, perception software, or visual inspection product experience.Warehouse automation / robotics / intralogistics background, including WES, WMS, WCS, AutoStore, ASRS, or comparable systems.Experience testing software that interacts with independently owned control-system, orchestration, Computer Vision, or warehouse execution components.Experience improving automated test coverage, regression reliability, release quality, and defect prevention at scale.Warehouse logistics, automation, robotics, or intralogistics domain experience is strongly preferred.Competencies:Strong understanding of software testing methods, including functional, integration, regression, performance, reliability, API, end-to-end, and Computer Vision application testing.Hands-on experience with test automation tools, API testing tools, CI/CD pipelines, defect tracking systems, logging, monitoring, and observability tools.Working knowledge of Computer Vision testing concepts such as image/video input validation, expected output comparison, dataset coverage, edge cases, false-positive/false-negative analysis, latency, throughput, and environmental variability.Technical understanding of distributed systems, messaging, APIs, data contracts, cloud connectivity, deployment workflows, and production-readiness validation.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain quality risks, defects, and release readiness clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer impact.Ability to manage multiple priorities, investigate complex issues, and work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.Proactive approach to improving test coverage, automation, defect prevention, and release confidence.Comfortable partnering with engineering teams during planning, development, testing, release readiness, and post-release
