Job summary

Kratos Defense is seeking a Software Test Associate responsible for formal and informal testing of software products. You will perform automated and manual tests, create test assets, report defects, and help maintain test procedures and documentation.

You will assist in RTM updates, design documentation, and system integration tasks while supporting Agile/scrum workflow and secure testing practices. Some travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• AS degree or technical school credentials in related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in software development or related field.
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification with a minimum of IAT Level I within 6 months of being placed into the role assisting Cybersecurity.
• Basic understanding / experience with development / testing of software applications / systems.
• Basic understanding / experience with testing, maintenance of RF or radar systems and airborne C2/telemetry systems preferred.
• Basic experience with LabVIEW / TestStand applications preferred.
• Basic experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams.
• Basic experience with Software Lifecycle Management / Collaboration tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence, Requirements Yogi, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Perform formal and informal software testing to verify quality and reliability for product requirements.
• Conduct both automated and manual testing of applications.
• Perform and assist in creating test assets, executing tests, reporting errors, and documenting outcomes.
• Assist in writing and updating software test procedures and requirements documents.
• Assist in updating design documentation (ICD, SDD, etc.) and RTM traces.
• Support integration testing and hardware/software integration tasks.
• Follow Agile and Scrum practices during testing activities.
• Assist information security activities including secure network design and RMF controls.
• Travel as needed to support customer products (up to 10%).
