Job summary

Insight Global in Grand Rapids is seeking a Software Project Manager to lead delivery of automated material handling software projects, coordinating budget, scope, timeline, resources, and risk from planning through go-live.

You will work with PMs, project engineers, controls, and software engineers, travel 30-50% on-site to ensure progress, host software workshops with customers, and communicate direction to the delivery team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of software project management experience.
• Experience managing software implementations from planning through go-live.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience managing budgets, timelines, resources, and project risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead software project delivery from planning to go-live, including budget, scope, timeline, resources, and risk management.

A large Material Handling Company is looking for a Software Project Manager. This person will manage software project delivery of an automated material handling warehouse. They will be responsible for managing everything from budget to scope to timeline to resource and risk management. This person will interacting with the customer and communicating direction to their core delivery team. The delivery team will consist of PM’s, project engineers, controls, and software engineers. Typical delivery timelines range from 1-3 years. This role will require 30-50% travel as it is important for this person to be on site to ensure proper progress is being met on time and on budget. This person must be very driven, highly organized, a strong communicator and a great leader. Given that this person will be overseeing the software portion of the project, a strong understanding of software methodologies is a must and able to host software workshops with customers.
