Job summary

One Identity seeks an experienced Software Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple products and engineering teams. You will define architecture, drive engineering excellence, mentor senior engineers, and solve complex challenges in our identity security platform.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native development, secure software design, and enterprise-scale software architecture.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and building enterprise software.
• Proven track record as a technical leader across multiple teams.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong cloud-native application development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture and design of large-scale enterprise software solutions.
• Drive engineering strategy and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
• Design highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams.
• Serve as the technical authority for critical engineering initiatives and architectural decisions.
• Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Improve software quality through automation, testing, observability, and performance optimization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
• Partner with Security teams to ensure secure development practices and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Drive modernization efforts, including cloud migration, platform improvements, and technical debt reduction.
• Contribute to coding, design, code reviews, and proof‑of‑concept development.
