Job summary

Nordson Corporation in Golden Valley is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support new product development, continuous improvement, database migration, and devops projects. You will work with Software, Firmware, Electrical, and Operations teams to develop products, calibrate/certify, fix bugs, and improve code bases.

You will gain hands-on experience in unit testing, Python/C++ development, and UI work while contributing to cross-functional projects in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize data and communicate findings effectively.
• Familiarity with C#, C++/CLI, native C++, CUDA, Azure DevOps, and Visual Studio preferred.
• Experience with Matlab or Python programming preferred.
• Experience with Winforms and WPF UI design preferred.

Nordson is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support new product development, continuous improvement, database migration, and devops projects at the Golden Valley site. This position will work closely with the Software Engineering, Firmware, Electrical, and Operations teams to develop new products, calibrate / certify products, maintain existing product lines, and continuously improve relevant code bases.

Key Responsibilities And Essential Functions

• Participate in the new product development process.
• Work with firmware engineers to communicate with embedded devices.
• Work with systems engineers to calibrate and certify new and existing products.
• Work with internal customers to resolve bugs on new and existing products.
• Write unit tests and stress tests for validation of software performance.
• Assist in testing software releases for other members of the team.
• Assists in collecting and processing data for our algorithm team.
• Participate in software process improvement team.
• Provides recommendations for user interface improvements.
• Perform additional software and engineering support activities as assigned.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize and analyze data and communicate findings effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independent­ly and collaboratively within a team environment.
