Job summary

Nordson Medical seeks an ambitious engineer-in-training to join our team in a hands-on role supporting electronics, software, and electromechanical systems. You will participate in sustaining daily operations, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to ECOs and documentation.

You will gain exposure to test methods, calibration, data analysis, and process improvements within a regulated medical device environment, with emphasis on quality systems and lifetime product support.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with electronics, embedded systems, or software is preferred.
• Familiarity with quality systems, documentation, and controlled processes is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sustaining daily MPS operations across electronics, electromechanical, software, and service-related systems.
• Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations for production issues and software anomalies.
• Contribute to test fixture support, calibration activities, and protocol execution.
• Assist with ECO documentation, verification, and post-change checks.
• Draft or revise work instructions, technical reports, and validation evidence.
• Perform data analysis, yield trending, and report generation using Excel or Minitab.
• Attend design/manufacturing/software reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and reliability.

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.**Summary of the role**As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.**Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities*** Assist with sustaining daily MPS operations across electronics, electromechanical, software, and service-related systems.* Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations for production issues, field returns, test failures, software anomalies, or process performance concerns.* Contribute to test fixture support, test method improvements, calibration activities, software/firmware checks, and protocol execution as assigned.* Assist with engineering change order (ECO) documentation, verification activities, implementation support, and post-change effectiveness checks.* Help draft or revise work instructions, technical reports, software or equipment documentation, validation evidence, and engineering records.* Perform basic data analysis, yield trending, failure tracking, and report generation using Excel, Minitab, or similar tools.* Participate in design, manufacturing, or software review activities and provide feedback on manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, usability, and testability with support.* Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste, improving reliability, strengthening test coverage, or improving throughput.* Support tasks requiring ESD safety, cleanroom entry, controlled documentation, and regulated manufacturing practices as necessary.* Gain working knowledge of applicable quality system, risk management, validation, and software lifecycle expectations used in medical device manufacturing.**Education and Experience Requirements*** Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.* Coursework, project experience, internship experience, or hands-on technical work related to electronics, embedded systems, software development, manufacturing, medical devices, or regulated product support is preferred.**Required Skills and Abilities*** Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently complete assigned tasks.* Strong interest in medical device manufacturing, product sustainment, electronics, software, and continuous improvement.* Interest in one or more of the following areas: electronics assembly, embedded systems, software development, sensor technology, test systems, or electromechanical product support.* Familiarity with circuit board components, testing principles, troubleshooting basics, programming concepts, or software debugging is preferred.* Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical work clearly.* Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to follow directions, ask questions, and escalate issues appropriately.* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).* Exposure to CAD, programming languages, scripting, data analysis tools, C programming, FPGA, and/or VHDL is preferred.* Basic understanding of root cause analysis, data analysis, engineering documentation, design controls, or software development lifecycle concepts.**Interested?**If you are interested in being a part of a team and creating an inclusive and diverse workplace, please apply online with your CV.**About Nordson Medical**At Nordson MEDICAL, you don't have to be a doctor to help save lives.
