Job description

Business Context

The Energy Management Software & Services (EM S&S) division brings together five software entities – Digital Energy (DE) Solutions, ETAP, Digital Grid, DE Software (EPO, EBO, PME), Planon, and IT Management – into one unified organization covering the full value chain, from design and build to operation and lifecycle optimization. It combines advanced digital platforms, integrated system solutions, and services to deliver energy intelligence and measurable customer outcomes.

This position focuses on the Software business, which delivers digital platforms, applications, and analytics across power systems, buildings, grid, data centers, and workplace domains. The Software scope plays a critical role as the intelligence and platform layer, enabling data‑driven insights, digital services, and scalable, recurring business models across domains.

Responsibilities
  • Software Market & Competition Intelligence Program
    • Synthesize market dynamics across domains (power, buildings, grid, data center, workplace) and translate them into portfolio‑level strategic implications.
    • Leverage and orchestrate external research partners to close knowledge gaps and enrich internal perspectives.
    • Continuously track ecosystem moves (partnerships, M&A, platform ecosystems, cloud/AI players) to inform positioning.
    • Analyze software industry shifts (AI, SaaS models, platformization, pricing evolution) and assess impact for strategy, providing M&A prescreening support.
    • Deliver competitor deep dives, identifying key players, platform strategies, and emerging disruptors across domains.
    • Deliver a Competition & Industry Newsletter to key stakeholders on a recurring basis.
    • Deliver high‑impact intelligence outputs (e.g., executive briefings, newsletters) tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Intelligence Coordination & Governance
    • Build and structure a common Intelligence framework (methodologies, tools, cadence, and deliverables).
    • Ensure consistency, quality, and accessibility of insights across the organization.
    • Act as a central orchestrator, connecting inputs from multiple software teams into a unified narrative.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with software entity strategy, marketing, and product teams to support portfolio‑level strategic decisions.
    • Act as key interface within Corporate / EM / S&S strategy community to share best practices, methodology, and tools, ensuring knowledge exchange.
    • Support leadership with executive‑level synthesis and decision materials on high‑priority topics.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or MBA from an engineering or business school (or equivalent relevant field).
  • Experience in strategy, consulting, marketing, or software/tech business analysis.
  • Working proficiency in English, French, or another language is a plus.
  • Strong ability to structure and synthesize complex, multi‑entity environments into clear strategic insights.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data into concise, executive‑level storytelling (PowerPoint, dashboards, reports).
  • Great stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and seniority levels.
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable working in a global, cross‑cultural environment.
  • Nice to have: Experience in software, digital platforms, or AI‑driven businesses, or background in strategic marketing in tech/software companies or consulting firms.
Benefits
  • Direct impact on strategic decisions that shape the future of the business.
  • Opportunity to develop your expertise while coaching and guiding emerging talent.
  • Collaborative culture that encourages innovation, curiosity, and professional growth.
  • Exposure to global markets and cross‑functional leadership opportunities.
