TAP Engineering LLC is seeking a Software Integration Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD to support integration, deployment, and operation of software across multi-vendor HPC servers and specialized processing environments. You will work across Linux OS, scheduling platforms, monitoring tools, and automation technologies to ensure reliable software/hardware integration.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (recent)
• DoD 8570 IAT II certification
• Bachelor's degree in technical field with 6+ years of experience or 11+ years of relevant experience without degree
• Experience with Linux-based OS and shell scripting
• Proficiency in Python and/or Perl/JavaScript
• Experience with HPC or distributed/parallel computing environments
• Familiarity with Slurm scheduling and resource management
• Knowledge of configuration management/automation tools
• Experience in system installation, integration, troubleshooting
• Familiarity with HPC hardware/software (Lustre, InfiniBand, NVIDIA, Mellanox)
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging/tools (Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
• Understanding of GCC and software compilation
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative mission-focused environment

Responsibilities

• Integrate, install, configure, and troubleshoot software across HPC systems
• Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts and automation (Bash, Python, Perl, or JavaScript)
• Support Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE and other Linux environments
• Configure HPC scheduling, resource management, and parallel processing environments
• Support technologies including Slurm, Lustre, VMware, InfiniBand, NVIDIA platforms
• Work with compilers and multi-threaded applications
• Support system monitoring, logging, and performance analysis (Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
• Apply configuration management/automation tools for consistent configurations
• Perform structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Support deployments, upgrades, and integration efforts
• Collaborate with system, network, and software engineers to resolve issues
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting activities
