Job summary

Qualifications

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Job Description

CohesionForce is actively seeking candidates for a Software GNC (Guidance, Navigation, & Control) Engineer to become part of our team in Huntsville, AL. The position will support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of guidance, navigation, & control, as well as, programming languages such as C or C++. Must be a US Citizen and will require an active security clearance prior to starting. The position is located at a facility that requires special access. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• – Experience with CORESIM
• – Experience with flight software development and autocode to C++ and Python
• – Experience with kinematics using Euler Angles and Quaternions
• – Experience with autopilot design and linear stability analysis
• – Familiarity or experience with missile defense systems or fire control
• – Experience with C++ development, Linux and Gitlab– Experience with Docker/Container and Kubernetes deployment
• – Experience with FORTRAN and 6DOF simulation
• – Knowledge/experience with GN&C control theory and physical modeling related to spacecraft and/or missile systems
• – Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space or missile application
• – Experience going through a spacecraft or missile program life cycle encompassing requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing of the GN&C subsystems for missile or space applications
• – Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers
