Job Title: Firmware Software Engineer I

Summary:

A fast-growing consumer electronics company is seeking a Firmware Software Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to contribute to firmware testing infrastructure and reliability efforts for wearable smart devices. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about working at the intersection of hardware and software, and who enjoys building robust testing pipelines and diagnostics dashboards.

You’ll be joining a firmware platform team that is focused on enhancing test automation, firmware reliability, and developer productivity. This role will provide you with in-depth exposure to automated firmware testing, CI/CD systems, and the reliability of embedded systems.

Qualifications:

2–4 years of relevant industry experience

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor stability and results of automated tests

Develop new automated tests and improve existing ones for embedded firmware

Debug and root-cause flaky or failing tests to determine if the issue lies in the test infrastructure or firmware

Support the development of dashboards to track firmware health metrics

Proactively contribute to testing and integration improvements for embedded systems

Must-Have Skills:

Strong proficiency in C/C++

Deep understanding of test strategy and test development for embedded devices

Demonstrated ability to debug embedded firmware effectively

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience in defining and executing test strategies for consumer-embedded products

Familiarity with CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Build kite, etc.)

Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, or equivalents)
