Job summary

CNH Industrial in the United States is seeking a half developer, half manager who will embed into the team to design, write, and maintain code while guiding team members and driving product and project completion. Job Purpose

This is a half development & half management role where leaders are embedded into the team for which they are resposible. This hybird role limits the amount of management responsibilities so that half of the time can be spent as a developer designing, writing, and maintaining code. The management half focuses on the team management and team member development along with product and project completion responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • May perform the functions and responsibilities of an engineer.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams.
  • Participate in or oversee the design process as needed.
  • Monitor the demand for engineering services, and participate in planning processes to ensure adequate resources.
  • Develop, formulate, and direct engineering processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate new product or product changes into the company.
  • Coordinate the development of key engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of engineering documentation.
  • Promote and maintain the highest possible environment of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provide assistance and direction on engineering issues, and keep appropriate staff informed of issues or concerns.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
  • Assure staffing requirements are met.
  • Encourage team member growth and development.
  • Demonstrates the support for company culture in their daily actions and encourages their teams to do the same.
  • Coordinate efforts to ensure proper safety and ergonomics standards and guidelines are met in work area.
  • Administer team member performance reviews, goal setting, and participate in salary planning.
  • Maintain records on direct reports in relation to attendance and performance.
  • Keep informed of new developments, methods and techniques in the technical profession.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction.
  • Lead team to evaluate, review, and design new or enhanced products.
  • Participate in development and execution of budgets, short-term plans, and long-term plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to department budgets.
  • Support all functions of the engineering process - including risk assessment, testing, and release of product.
  • Work with project manager to assure accurate and timely completion of projects.
  • Monitor and initiate improvement projects to current processes or policies.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field with 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Prior experience leading a team of engineers
  • Must have a software engineering background with C++ experience.
  • Must have knowledge of software architectual patterns
  • Must have knowledge of AI patterns in software development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of QT and QML
  • Prior experience with creating high performance linux applications
  • Knowledge of internationalization standards
Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is USD $137,475.00 - $210,795.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.) For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
