Honeycomb Insurance in Chicago is seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Team Lead to guide a skilled group of developers and to shape the product foundation while contributing code.

You will mentor, review code, and drive technical vision across cross-functional teams, balancing business goals with robust software design in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
At least 2 years leading a team of software engineers.
5+ years hands-on coding and software design with Node.js.
Deep knowledge of databases including SQL/NoSQL/BigQuery (MongoDB, Elastic, etc.).

Responsibilities

Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of full-stack developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Provide hands-on technical leadership while actively contributing to development tasks.
Mentor and advise teams in code review, pair programming and more.
Lead the adoption of agentic coding in the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between technical and business goals.
Proactively identify and address potential technical challenges and roadblocks.
Contribute to products’ vision and subsequent execution.
