Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat invites highly motivated IT, software engineering, and computer science students to join the 2027 Summer Internship program at the Groton site. Interns will engage in software development projects, participate in design and testing activities, and gain exposure to defense-focused IT environments.

Selected interns will work across groups including software development, IT infrastructure, cyber security, systems engineering, and project management, gaining hands-on

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
US citizenship is required.
Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science in IT, Computer Science or Engineering
Must pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university
At minimum students must have completed their Freshman year prior to the start of the internship.
Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027.

Responsibilities

Requirement analysis and design for software application.
Development of software applications (typically Java applications).
Testing and maintenance of various software applications.
Investigation of advanced IT and software development technology
