Job summary

5V Video is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with RDK experience to join a team developing and supporting next‑generation connected TV and broadband products.

You will work across the RDK software stack, contributing to development, integration, debugging and optimisation of software running on consumer devices. This is a hands‑on engineering role near the platform, solving complex technical problems.

Qualifications

• Experience as Software Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer.
• Hands‑on experience with RDK.
• Strong programming in C/C++.
• Solid experience with Linux-based embedded systems.
• Experience with Yocto / OpenEmbedded.
• Understanding of software development, debugging and version control.
• Experience in complex, multi‑team engineering environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience in broadband, cable, OTT, IPTV or connected TV.
• Knowledge of OpenWrt and consumer devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and maintain software components within an RDK-based environment.
• Work across RDK-B and/or RDK-V as needed.
• Design, develop and debug embedded software using C/C++.
• Work with Embedded Linux, Yocto and OpenEmbedded.
• Investigate and resolve complex software, integration and performance issues.
• Collaborate with hardware, QA, architecture and wider software teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation and design discussions.
• Support integration of RDK components and third-party technologies.
• Analyse logs, crashes and system behaviour to identify defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvements across development, testing and deployment processes.
