Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to lead a specialized team operating at the intersection of hardware, software, and artificial intelligence. You will develop sensor fusion algorithms for optical and motion technologies, guiding a focus on real-time embedded software and power-efficient design.

The role involves architecting innovative Pixel experiences, leading ML design, and coordinating across platforms to deliver scalable computer-vision capabilities at device scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with Computer Vision (e.g., image classification and processing, object detection, visual search), video generation, or signal processing; and experience with various algorithms and design techniques.
• 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Apply extensive experience in hardware, AI, and software technologies relevant to the mobile phone form factor.
• Diagnose and debug hardware and software issues to ensure system stability.
• Employ creative and critical thinking to troubleshoot complex problems and communicate findings effectively.
• Utilize OS tools and UNIX/Linux internal knowledge to deliver high-quality end-user products.
• Develop testing and verification methods that ensure an efficient and consistent development rhythm. Architect and build sensor fusion algorithms for optical and motion technologies.
