Job summary

Western Governors University seeks a Software Engineering Manager in Salt Lake City to provide technical leadership for the software engineering team. You will design, develop, and support applications that meet business needs, drive roadmaps, and mentor developers in Agile/Scrum practices.

You will manage budgets, coordinate with internal customers, and ensure timely delivery of quality software while fostering a collaborative, diverse, and high-performance engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
• 5+ years of Enterprise level Java Application development with experience both as a hands-on programmer and software development manager.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary software teams and delivering roadmaps using Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a software engineering team to design, develop, and support applications.
• Manage product and feature roadmaps, project scheduling, and budgets using Agile/Scrum.
• Oversee code reviews, architecture decisions, and change management for releases.
