Job summary

Optimize Search Group in Irving, TX, seeks an experienced Manager, Software Engineering to lead a team delivering high-performance web and native mobile applications. You will collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure enterprise-grade software.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with full-stack expertise, strong people management, and agile experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing software development teams for web, mobile, e-commerce, or field service management apps.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• 5+ years hands-on front-end and back-end development.
• 3+ years leading software engineering teams.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL.
• Proficiency with Git and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of responsive design, modern web frameworks, and native mobile development.
• Experience optimizing performance and site speed.
• Understanding of secure software development practices.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performing culture.
• Plan and oversee project execution, workflows, and product roadmaps.
• Define and implement software architecture and technical strategies.
• Gather requirements with Product Owners and stakeholders, translating to technical solutions.

• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews and code discussions.
• Mentor engineers for growth and career progression.
• Conduct performance reviews and support hiring and onboarding.
• Remove roadblocks to improve productivity and delivery.
• Promote engineering excellence and secure development practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
