Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Sunnyvale, CA to lead and grow a high-caliber team of engineers across multiple sites. You will align roadmaps with product strategy, manage budgets, and oversee deployment of large-scale projects in AI/ML infrastructure, computing and storage domains.

You will guide engineers, coordinate with hardware and SRE teams, and contribute to product strategy while developing your team and maintaining focus on delivering scalable systems and reliable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals.
• Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your teams.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
