Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering in Rochester, NY. You will lead a team responsible for architecture, design, coding, integration, testing, and sustainment of radio software within the DRDNaught family, interfacing with product and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with 7+ years.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish short-term operational plans and manage software development execution.
• Develop workforce and staffing plans to balance resources across priorities.
• Support new business pursuits through proposals, scoping, risk identification, and effort estimation.
• Lead the software engineering organization and mentor senior engineers.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle and release execution.
• Collaborate across engineering, test, product, and program teams to resolve issues.
• Analyze complex problems and implement process or product improvements.
• Communicate direction and status to influence priorities and decisions.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and succession planning.
• Security clearance eligibility is a requirement.
