Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking a Specialist, Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test firmware for advanced tactical radios and waveform software. You will collaborate across engineering to define hardware-software interfaces and ensure performance across the system lifecycle.

The role requires strong C/C++ and real-time design skills, experience with RTOS such as VxWorks, Linux, or QNX, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, or graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Must be able to obtain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and extensively tests firmware for advanced tactical radio operating systems and waveform software.
• Collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams to define interfaces between hardware and software.
• Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Develops software test procedures, programs, and related documentation.
• Identifies, tracks, and repairs software defects.
• Works effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Clearly conveys information and ideas.
