Help Build the Future of Ashleys Digital Experience

Location: Onsite in Tampa, FL; Mesquite, TX; or Seattle, WA

Ashley is one of the world’s largest furniture manufacturers and retailers, serving millions of customers each year. We're investing heavily in modernizing our digital platforms, expanding the use of AI across our business, and building an engineering organization centered on innovation, speed, and technical excellence.

We're looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager who is as passionate about building software as they are about developing teams.

Initially, you'll spend approximately 60% of your time writing production code while leading a team of 5–7 frontend and full-stack engineers. As the organization grows and additional technical leaders join the team, your role will evolve to focus more heavily on technical strategy, mentorship, and organizational leadership.

  • Remain hands-on by designing, building, testing, and delivering meaningful production code.
  • Modernize Ashleys customer-facing digital platforms used by millions of shoppers.
  • Build scalable, high-performing web experiences using modern frontend and full-stack technologies.
  • Guide frontend architecture, technical design, code quality, and engineering standards.
  • Lead code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
  • Improve application performance, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, AI, and other engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture built on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
