Job summary

AIRO Group seeks a Software Engineering Lead (C2 Integration) to architect C2 middleware linking autonomous UAS with GCS and defense networks. You will drive low-latency telemetry, video pipelines, and open-architecture standards in a hands-on leadership role.

You will guide SITL/HITL testing, field integration, and plugin development for TAK ecosystems, delivering robust C2 abstraction frameworks for operators in the field.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of software experience
• Experience with robotics, aerospace, defense tech, or autonomous systems
• Proven leadership in software or systems integration

Responsibilities

• Architect C2 Middleware & Abstraction Layers to link UAS with GCS and defense networks
• Drive interoperability by integrating CoT, MAVLink, UCI, and OMS standards
• Engineer video and telemetry pipelines using RTSP, WebRTC, and real-time protocols
• Develop TAK and GCS plugins for ATAK/TAK ecosystems and external stations
• Lead SITL / HITL testing to validate C2 layers before flight hardware
• Support field trials and live flight integration with operators and engineers
