Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the Defense Systems Intern Program in Melbourne, FL. This internship develops competencies across engineering specializations and offers hands-on experience in a dynamic defense environment.

As an intern, you’ll work full-time, participate in a summer program, and learn from engineers through tasks like testing, calibration, and data reporting. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field.
• Be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
• Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
• Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
