Job summary

Amca is offering a Software Engineering Internship for Summer 2027 in El Segundo, CA. Interns will work on real production problems, building pipelines to digitize and structure millions of drawings and engineering documents while contributing to internal tools that speed up engineering workflows.

You will design end-to-end features, collaborate with engineers and production teams, and help improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer or software engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field
• Solid grasp of algorithms and data structures
• Working familiarity with storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks
• Learn quickly, pick up unfamiliar tools without hand-holding, and take ownership of what you build
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates

Responsibilities

• Build pipelines that ingest, digitize, label, and structure large volumes of technical drawings, CAD files, and engineering documentation
• Develop internal tools that speed up engineering and manufacturing workflows across the factories and Protoshop
• Design and ship features end to end, from backend services and data storage to front-end interfaces
• Work directly with engineers and production teams to understand their bottlenecks and turn them into software
• Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems
• Write clean, tested, well-documented code and take part in code review
